The importance of understanding care rights has been underlined by a case in Haringey, after homes were given a final date to try to avert closure.
Residents at Cooperscroft and Trentfield homes are facing eviction after a court date was settled for the final chance to avoid the shut-down of the facilities.
The residents and families, however, have vowed to fight on, on the grounds of human rights.
They say that the closure and the separation of carers and their residents will have a dramatic impact on health, potentially doubling mortality rates.
The case will be heard tomorrow at the Royal Courts of Justice. |
